live action role play, 4 floor building and surrounding locations,
movement and interaction algorithm
With a cast and crew of over 50 humans, and 60 participants per night for 30 days, STRATA (Strategic Training Research And Testing Agency) was an immersive science fiction theatrical live action role play that blurred the boundaries between truth and fiction, reality and simulation. Participants were taken on a journey, beginning with arriving at a clandestine location and making contact with their agent. They then embarked on a private rite of passage that challenged their perceptions and pushed them out of their comfort zones. A pervasive advertising campaign was designed to further interlace and merge the fictional world with the surrounding city. The role play was also further extended outside the game zone of the building with the introduction of actors in interstitial spaces.
